Because Namche Bazaar is inaccessible by road, your journey begins with a trek or a short flight to Lukla, followed by a flight to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you must then transfer to a long-distance bus heading toward Liwang.

• The Experience: Expect a marathon 17-hour journey. The road conditions from Kathmandu heading west toward Rolpa are notoriously bumpy, winding, and often subject to landslides during the rainy season.
• The Bus Vibes: You will be sharing the cabin with locals carrying supplies, sacks of grain, and perhaps even livestock. It is loud, dusty, and incredibly authentic. Do not expect luxury; expect a wooden-bench-like experience on older buses.
